Anderson Saint Georges is an award-winning licensed substance abuse counselor and the CEO of Daystar Recovery Center in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Addictions Counseling from Oak Hills Christian College and a Master’s in Addiction Studies from the Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School.
Anderson has held several distinguished leadership roles throughout his career. He currently serves on the board of the Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School of Addiction Studies, the Essentia Health West Market Board, and the Governor’s Advisory Council on Opioids, Substance Use Disorders, and Addiction, where he provides strategic insight on clinical quality, systems development, and public policy related to substance use and behavioral health.
He previously served for eight years as the Region 4 Representative on the MARRCH Board, where he played a key role in statewide advocacy efforts and policy discussions advancing recovery-oriented systems of care across Minnesota.
In recognition of his impact, Anderson was the recipient of MARRCH’s prestigious 2025 Advocate of the Year Award, honoring his significant contributions to the field of substance use disorder (SUD) treatment through advocacy, leadership, and service.
Deeply passionate about building stronger and safer communities, Anderson co-founded the Leadership Sustainability Institute, an initiative focused on reducing interpersonal violence and addictive behaviors through research, education, and leadership development.
Outside of his professional work, Anderson enjoys traveling with his wife and two children. he is an active Rotarian, a youth soccer coach, and an avid outdoorsman who enjoys fishing, hunting, foraging, and weightlifting.
Michael is a passionate CPRS with Community Life Services, driven by a deep commitment to empowering individuals on their journeys to recovery and well-being. With 16 years of personal experience overcoming substance use, Michael brings a unique understanding and empathy to his work, connecting with people on a one-on-one level to foster hope and inspire positive change.
His background as a team leader in manufacturing, coupled with his natural ability to build relationships and communicate effectively, allows him to create a supportive and encouraging environment for those seeking a brighter future. Michael firmly believes that the past does not define us or our future, and his own journey serves as a testament to the power of resilience and transformation.
Currently a Community Health Worker and Certified Peer Recovery Specialist, Michael is dedicated to expanding his knowledge and skills to better serve the community. Beyond his professional pursuits, he finds creative expression through playing guitar and has been a dedicated skateboarder for 25 years, embodying a spirit of perseverance and passion in all aspects of his life.
